Description
Conseal is a privacy-focused desktop redaction and anonymization app for Windows and macOS that does AI-powered detection of sensitive information. The AI models run on your machine, so your documents never have to leave. It has two outputs you can choose from: Redact or Anonymize. Redact produces permanent black boxes with the underlying text and images truly removed, which is what you want for filings and discovery. Anonymize is reversible: it swaps sensitive values for labels like [PERSON_1] so the document still reads sensibly for AI tools like ChatGPT. The AI can analyze the file without seeing real names, and since the same entity always gets the same label, it still follows who did what to whom. Afterward you restore the original values locally. Most redaction tools are cloud-based, a hard sell when the reason you're redacting is confidentiality. Most local tools are not intelligent enough without AI.
