BriefMark Overview

Description

BriefMark marks the citations in a Word brief so Word can build the table of authorities. Open a .docx and it finds every case, statute, rule, regulation, constitutional provision and secondary source, including Id., supra and short forms, and traces each back to the right authority. Review the list, edit any entry, change a category or leave items out. BriefMark then writes Word's own TA and TOA field codes into the same document; update the fields in Word and the table builds itself, with page numbers. It works the same in Word for Mac and Windows, which matters on the Mac, where Word's built-in Mark Citation has long been unreliable. BriefMark runs entirely in the browser: the brief is never uploaded, there is no server and no account. Free for briefs with up to 8 authorities; a lifetime license is $99 once.
