Description
Stella is an open-source legal workspace for document review, drafting, and research. Tabular review extracts parties, dates, amounts, clauses, and obligations from large document sets into structured, exportable tables, with each cell linked to its source passage. An in-browser DOCX editor handles tracked changes, comments, footnotes, and tables natively, with redline extraction and AI-assisted drafting. Legal research covers case-law and statute lookup with cited sources, designed to avoid fabricated citations. Matters, full-text search, and versioned storage sit underneath. Source code, schema, and APIs are public. Stella can be self-hosted via Docker (PostgreSQL, S3-compatible storage) or used as a managed cloud service, with full data export at any time. AI features are billed by usage rather than per seat.Features
